Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 March 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Copiol (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including individual users and members of team workspaces.
2. Description of Service
Copiol is a web-based electronics component inventory management application. It allows users to track components, plan project bills of materials (BOMs), manage suppliers, record purchases, and collaborate with team members through shared workspaces. The Service is provided as-is and may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account, including a valid email address and full name.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Do not share your password.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- One person may not create multiple accounts for the purpose of circumventing any limits or restrictions.
- You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload, store, or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without prior written permission.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialise access to the Service without our written consent.
5. Your Data
You retain full ownership of all data you enter into Copiol — your components, projects, purchase records, and any other content ("User Data").
By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process your User Data solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. We do not sell your data to third parties.
You can export your inventory data as CSV at any time. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is irreversible.
6. Team Workspaces
When you create a workspace or invite other users, you become the workspace Owner. As Owner you are responsible for:
- Managing member roles and access permissions appropriately.
- Ensuring members you invite comply with these Terms.
- All data created within your workspace.
Members who accept an invite acknowledge that the workspace Owner and other members with appropriate roles can view and edit shared data within that workspace.
7. Intellectual Property
Copiol, its design, code, branding, and all content produced by us (excluding User Data) are the intellectual property of Copiol. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the Service without express written permission.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party providers including Supabase (database and authentication) and DigiKey (MPN product data). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Product data obtained via the DigiKey MPN lookup (prices, availability, specifications) is provided for informational purposes only and may not reflect current real-world values.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Copiol and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If the changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to the Service or other users. You may terminate your account at any time from the Settings page.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
14. Contact
